Went on a Saturday at 11am, no reservation, were seated immediately. The croque madam was phenomenal and very filling. The coffee tasted really good, definitely better than most cafes in the area. Will surely be back for dinner :)

Went for dinner during restaurant week. We made a reservation and we're able to be seated when we arrived. Food was amazing, our service/server was gold star, with a gorgeous esthetic. Would love to revisit during cafe hours because that looked so quaint. Just keep in mind, the front door to the restaurant does not offer valet. The restaurant uses the valet service through the hotel, with a discounted price, but is a little confusing from the outside of your driving around.

Indulgent downtown bistro/cafe - luxurious dark wood and leather, with paradoxical amounts of natural light from the thirty foot windows in the front coffee service space. Their happy hour oysters are decent value for a pre-dinner snack on a slow afternoon (emphasis on slow, as the service can move at a relaxed pace)

We enjoyed breakfast here every day while on our stay at Pendry. The egg croissant sandwich was my fave breakfast item on the menu. We would indulge and share the french toast which was prepared the way french toast should be! Perfectly custardy with a nice crust. Salivating right now while I think about it. Coffee was great and prepared well. I was happy to learn that they can do a ristretto well (rare I've found). Roxana was our server for most of our breakfast days. We found Roxana to not only be professional, but friendly without overstepping and remembered our orders and frequently checked in without being intrusive. I really want to highlight Roxana's quality of service at Venteux--quite a model! We also tried the duck and waffles but have to say, wasn't a fan. The waffles were ok and I wasn't expecting a patty for the duck (it was lump duck meat)...I was hoping for a crispy duck breast or thigh. Taste was average. As for dinner, we had the pleasure of being served by Shalise (sorry if I spelled that incorrectly) who, even though we showed up just before closing, was extremely friendly and didn't ever rush us. We found Shalise to be engaging and so witty but still so professional. Shalise even made our last dinner in Chicago special and we'll forever remember Shalise for her humour, service and kindness. Oh, the oysters! So perfect! Chilled, fresh, tasty from the East Coast. Will definitely be back for those! The lobster cobb was great aside from the actual lobster--found it to be a bit too soft in texture but otherwise, it was a great salad. For breakfast, I'd recommend sitting in the cafe since it's so brighty and airy. The dinning area on the inside is wonderfully art deco and intimate for dinner.

I made reservations for a New Year’s Eve/Birthday dinner for two for my spouse and I since we were seeing a show at the Chicago Theater that night and I hadn’t been to a Brassiere since a trip to Montreal, so of coarse, I was excited to compare and contrast. We were sat at one of the elevated curved booths allowing us to fully absorb the ambiance of the restaurant. Service was great, our server’s name I think was Casey and she was fantastic. There when we needed her, but also giving us time to enjoy ourselves. She had a little kerfuffle with another table that we felt really wasn’t her fault but she took everything in stride and it didn’t interfere with the quality of her service at all. I really enjoyed the charm of the staff and eclectic style everyone had. Casual but polished with purpose. Down to brass tax: the FOOD! Being a bit of a gourmand, it needs to shine, and shine it did! The presentation of the caviar was whimsical and elegant. The foie gras melts in the mouth. But by far, surprisingly, the moules frites is the singular stand out for me. A Perfect cook, Ample, Clean and supple with a slightly spicy broth with more than enough deliciously toasted baguette to absorb all that goodness! I’d have to say it rivals what I had while in Montreal!!! If you like mussels, you must get this, get this for the table, share it with someone you love or want to love! I’m already thinking another trip to Chicago might be in order. I have to think their oysters must be worth it! And the tartar, and the escargot, and the fruit de mer, and the meuniere, and the...

Edit: I wrote this review in the summer of 2023. It is now a year later and I went back here this summer to get the French toast. It was undercooked and I happened to get pretty sick that night. —————— I loved this place when I went to eat breakfast there. The atmosphere is amazing. The food looks great and tastes great. It is on the pricier side so just keep that in mind. I got the French toast and it was soooooooo good yum. We got there just before 8am, which is around the time it starts to get a bit busy but we got nice seats.

Venteux Cafe in Chicago is a hidden gem! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing coffee break. We tried their Cafe Mocha and Cappuccino, both rich and perfectly brewed. The Avocado Toast was fresh and flavorful, with a nice balance of creamy avocado and crisp toast. The Chicken Burger was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor, making it a great lunch choice. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall excellent experience. If you’re looking for great coffee and delicious food in a charming setting, Venteux Cafe is a must-visit! Highly recommend!
